Job Title: Production Operative – Finishing Department
Location: St Leonards O/S, East Sussex
Salary: Starting £26,500 per year to Circa £32,000 (DOE)

This is a great opportunity to join a specialist production team working on premium electrical products, where your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly contribute to the quality and finish of luxury, design-led products.
About the Production Operative – Finishing Department Role
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of finishing processes on high-quality machined equipment, ensuring products meet strict aesthetic and quality standards before they reach customers.
This role involves working on delicate and intricate products, where consistency and precision are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out finishing processes including polishing, coating, brushing, and surface treatments
- Inspect products to ensure they meet strict quality and design standards
- Prepare components for finishing, including cleaning, masking, and handling delicate materials
- Operate finishing equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain consistent finish quality across production batches, including bespoke and custom orders
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet specifications and deadlines
- Identify and report defects or inconsistencies in materials or finishes
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and company standards
You’ll work closely with production and quality teams as part of a supportive, hands-on manufacturing environment.
What we’re looking for in this Production Operative Job
We’re seeking candidates with experience in a manufacturing or finishing environment, ideally with exposure to metal finishing or precision component work.
You should have:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or finishing role (metal finishing experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work with precision on luxury or design-led products - Experience with polishing, lacquering, anodising, or similar finishing techniques (advantageous)
- Ability to follow technical instructions and specifications accurately
- A proactive, reliable, and team-focused attitude
- Good communication skills and a methodical approach to work
