Senex Recruitment is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading manufacturing and industrial engineering company near Rochester, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled) to join a modern production facility focused on equipment reliability, machinery uptime, and continuous improvement.

About the Maintenance Engineer Role

We welcome applications from:

• Electrical Maintenance Engineers (18th Edition qualified)
• Multi-Skilled Engineers
• Mechanically biased engineers with electrical experience

You’ll play a key role in planned maintenance, breakdown response, and production support, ensuring equipment runs efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

• Deliver scheduled maintenance to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime
• Ensure optimal performance of production equipment

Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Minimise production disruption through effective troubleshooting

Production & Equipment Support

• Work closely with manufacturing teams to maintain smooth production operations
• Support a wide range of industrial machinery and automated systems

Maintenance Systems & Documentation

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records
• Assist with contractor management and servicing schedules

Continuous Improvement & Engineering Projects

• Contribute to lean manufacturing, reliability improvements, and engineering upgrades
• Support projects involving automation, robotics, and PLC systems

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all health & safety procedures
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance across the site

Maintenance Engineer Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Experience in a manufacturing or production maintenance environment
• 18th Edition electrical qualification
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Desirable:

• Knowledge of motors, pneumatics, PLCs, robotics, and automation
• Multi-skilled capability across electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience working in fast-paced industrial environments

Soft Skills:

• Problem-solving mindset
• Team collaboration
• Strong safety awareness
• Practical, hands-on experience is highly valued in this role.
