An Organic Chemist is required in a senior role for a superb company based near Ramgate, Kent. This exciting role will suit a hands-on chemist who enjoys using practical chemistry techniques while also supporting the development of robust and high yielding chemical processes. Paying up to £35,000 plus excellent benefits this is an ideal role for PhD, MSc or BSc with industrial laboratory experience,

 

Responsibilities

Your duties as Chemist will include:

  • Developing safe, robust, and high yielding chemical processes using continuous flow methods and equipment.
  • Designing, executing, and analysing experiments to develop process understanding and optimise chemical reactions using laboratory automation.
  • Remaining current with the process engineering and chemistry literature. Collaborating and preparing internal research reports and technical presentations.
  • Creating process knowledge to enable reliable scale-up and facility process designs into manufacturing.
  • Contributing to bench chemistry and analysis
  • Developing and validating analytical methods.
  • Planning Projects and staff allocation and directing staff day-to-day activity.
  • Preparing reports and presenting scientific results both internally and to Clients.
  • Providing technical support for processes once delivered into manufacturing
  • Complying with all safety, health, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications

You will hold a PhD, MSc or BSc in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or related subject and have a passion for the development of chemical processes. You will be able to design and lead scientific experiments while being hands on in the laboratory using familiarity with in-situ UV/Vis and GC, UPLC, HPLC, and MS. You will hold a consultative approach and be able to act as an ambassador for the business with its high-profile clients,
