Mechanical Technician

Job Description

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician specializing in Building Management Systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems, plant, equipment, and buildings within our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass both Planned Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, testing, planned maintenance, and modifications of systems, plant, equipment, and building repairs.
• Perform on-site investigations, diagnostics, and repairs of faults in mechanical distribution systems and plant.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless plant operation, accurate monitoring during startup, and safe shutdown.
• Install and repair piped services, including steam, condensate, compressed air, vacuum, and drainage, using various materials such as steel, copper, and plastic.
• Disassemble, overhaul, set up, and test pressure regulating and pressure relieving devices, such as steam/air regulators and safety valves.
• Safely isolate equipment for maintenance work.
• Support projects and installations on-site, contributing to the continuous improvement of plant and systems.
• Provide technical support for projects and assist in commissioning works for plant and general equipment.
• Maintain strong communication skills, representing the company positively while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications and Requirements for Mechanical Technician

With a Minimum ONC/OND qualification in an Engineering subject, preferably in a related field. Knowledge and experience working with Building Services, HVAC, or possibly manufacturing maintenance. Call to discuss your background with our consultancy and we will advise.
Core/basic understanding of BMS/BEMS mechanical systems and/or a desire to learn. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and colleagues professionally will be essential.

You will have flexibility to work outside of core hours (Monday to Friday, day shift) as may be infrequently required for on-call duties and overtime.
