A Fitter / Mechanical Assembly Technician is required near Redhill, Surrey. Paying circa £26,000 plus benefits to play a key role in assembling and building special purpose machinery other precision instruments. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in mechanical engineering. Furthermore, demonstrating proficiency in assembling intricate components. Also having experience working with precision tools and equipment.
Responsibilities of Fitter / Mechanical Assembly Technician
• Perform the mechanical assembly and construction of special purpose machines, and other precision instruments following engineering drawings and guidelines.
• Utilize a range of tools and equipment, including but not limited to Pillar Drills, Manual Lathes, and precision measuring tools, to achieve close tolerance assembly.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
• Maintain the organization and proper condition of tooling and equipment within the assembly area.
• Assist with the annual stock count and inventory management activities.
• Ensure a clean and orderly workstation, adhering to safety and cleanliness protocols.
• Embrace a proactive attitude towards learning and participating in cross-training activities.
With a strong background in mechanical engineering, you’re no stranger to the meticulous assembly of complex machinery or similar within a precision-driven environments. Your proficiency in utilizing precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers and verniers, guarantees impeccable accuracy and adherence to even the tightest tolerances.
Your ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, encompassing general assembly drawings sets you apart as a precise and detail-oriented professional. Additionally, You’re well-versed in the operation of various hand and machine tools necessary for assembly tasks, ensuring each job is executed flawlessly.
