We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer with Embedded firmware capabilities to join this dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in both maintaining existing electronic builds and designing innovative instrumentation solutions to align with the business requirements. As an integral member of a close-knit engineering team, you will work in a multifaceted capacity, offering support to our manufacturing department while also contributing to the development of future products.

Key Responsibilities

Development of Electronic Instruments: Create innovative electronic instruments and equipment to meet evolving industry demands.

Maintenance and Upgrades: Ensure the continued functionality of existing designs by upgrading them to comply with legislative requirements, address obsolescence issues, and enhance performance.

Firmware Development: Develop and maintain embedded firmware to support our electronic systems.

Specification Development: Prepare electronic specifications in line with functional requirements and collaborate on setting achievable requirements.

Prototyping and Testing: Prototype, thoroughly test, and meticulously document results, making them accessible to team members.

Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot development and production issues, contributing to the formulation of comprehensive test and inspection plans.

Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and both internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

Quality Maintenance: Ensure electronic and software documentation aligns with quality system requirements.

Technical Support Documentation: Offer insights and essential details for the creation of technical support documentation.

Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for enhancing electronic and software design and provide ideas to improve the quality and efficiency of the company’s operations, products, and services.

Training: Train fellow employees in technical and operational matters as required.

Experience and Skills

Ideally you will hold an HND/HNC or degree-level qualification in electronics or similar. However experience is the key factor so due consideration will be given to all electronics backgrounds.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of electronics product development and design experience. Couple with the capability to apply your knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues.
