Are you a Buyer looking for a new role in Hastings, East Sussex? If so Senex Recruitment is working with a specialist supplier of high-end engineering products who require a proactive, forward thinking and commercially astute purchasing professional.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead cost saving throughout the supply chain and will require a tenacious and skilled negotiator to secure the best price on raw materials and items for manufacturing. While taking a wider view on purchasing strategy and supporting cost saving exercises in the supply chain.

You will be partnering with both the Design and Manufacturing to ensure all required parts and materials are secured at the best price, optimal quantity, and quality from suppliers.

Your duties as Buyer will include:

• Achieve the most competitive purchase price for the quality and quantity required for all raw materials purchased this will include price negotiations and establishing good pricing deals.
• Actively seek new suppliers if required.
• Placing orders for new materials
• Monitoring stock levels and access to materials.
• Ensure timely availability of critical parts.
• Track supplier performance
• Working closely with all departments such as manufacturing and design to ensure purchasing issues and queries are proactively dealt with.
• Support procurement-based projects in order to deliver increased margins, identifying where cost savings can be made

With previous experience of Buying or Purchasing in a manufacturing or engineering environment, you will be able to develop a keen understanding of materials and components used in this companies’ production lines. You will have strong negotiation skills and able to develop robust solutions to purchasing and supply chain issues to deliver maximum efficiency and cost savings.

This would be aa highly suitable role for a purchasing professional looking to gain more senior responsibilities in the field of purchasing, materials management and supply chain. A CIPS qualification could be useful but not essential.
