An Application Scientist is required for a leading scientific manufacturing company based in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. The job posting is to work directly with customers to understand their specific technical requirements and ensure that the company delivers the right product. You will be specifically focused on diffraction and x-ray cameras systems and will be able to bring specialist knowledge to the role.
You will be exceptional with customers and have a Physics, Science or Engineering background ideally with a PhD or MSc qualification. This exciting role is paying up to £50,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package including pension and healthcare.
Your duties as Application Scientist will include:
• Provide Pre-Sales technical customer support ensuring the correct selection of product and specification.
• Carry out Post Sales support assisting with product installation, operation, and customer training.
• Produce and maintain product manuals and datasheets in conjunction with marketing and sales.
• Provide feedback on products and market trends to Engineering and Sales teams.
• Keep demonstration equipment up to date and maintained.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering to ensure development projects are meeting market trends.
You will be comfortable and enjoy working under your own initiative, delivering to timescales that can be dependent upon external factors and teams. You will be able to discuss technical issues across various levels of expertise and maintain a high degree of accuracy in all you do. This will be a client facing role with extensive telephone communication and occasional travel to clients. Clients can include academic institutes and Hi-Tech manufacturing companies involved in materials and crystal analysis. You will be a key figure in developing this sector for the company.
You will hold a strong academic record at a MSc or PhD level in Physics or a related Scientific or Engineering sector. You will have knowledge of Diffraction and/or X-Ray Systems and have a high level of expertise in this subject. This is due to the role being focused on expanding into these sectors and you will be acting as the key contact for the business in these markets.
